This is going to be real short with no pictures.  The 86 mile ride from Burley to Pocatello, Idaho featured a relatively flat course and a good tailwind, to most everyone’s enjoyment.  This was not the case for me.  I was up a lot last night coughing with a lot of congestion.  I started riding this morning and didn’t feel too bad, but that did not last.  Turns out that my cold has become bronchitis.  Despite feeling miserable I did struggle through the 86 miles, did not opt for the van at the sag stops, and completed the ride.  I’ve picked up a prescription this evening, which along with some over-the-counter expectorant and cough suppressant recommended during the morning by a pharmacist in American Falls, Idaho, should have me feeling better soon.  I will be in bed by about 7:30 and hope to get about 10 hours of sleep. I’ll decide in the morning whether to do the day’s 60 mile ride…or ride in the van. I hate the latter option (will I be able to say I rode from coast-to-coast if I skipped a leg?), but if I have to do it to avoid getting sicker and to get me back on the bike sooner, I will.

To those of you who have sent me emails today, because I am heading off to bed soon I will not have the time to answer them.  You may have to wait a day or two.

I hope you’re all having an enjoyable 4th of July weekend.
